Auto-generated DPL table depend on the CAD structure. Default Import Profiles, shipped with the OOTB version of Cortona3D RapidAuthor mirrors the exact copy of the imported CAD structure. You can modify Import Profiles to match your criteria, such as: measurement units and scaling of geometry, orientation axes, surface properties, parts merging depth, rules to extract and map certain metadata fields from CAD's BOM to DPL–table or Parts Tree, etc.

Use of Custom Import Profile is essential for the automation of the importing process. A set of tools called Cortona3D RapidDeveloper has been developed for this purpose.
